Celebrity School of Beauty alumna Aly Cord is turning her lifelong passion into a thriving brand. Aly’s journey into wig design began as a child, inspired by her mother’s days as a wig model. By the age of 14, she was already experimenting with wigs, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong obsession and career.
After years of experience working for wig companies, salons, and in the broader beauty industry, Aly launched her own business, A’ La Cord Beauty. Named as a tribute to her full name, Alanys Laporte Cordoba, and inspired by the phrase “à la mode,” the brand reflects her belief that beauty is always evolving.
Aly creates custom wigs, all hand-colored, cut, constructed, and installed by her, merging artistry with technical skill.
Aly shares, “Wigs have been my life since I was a kid… Extensions and wigs have always been my goal. And now with A’ La Cord Beauty, everything feels right and ready to jump!” Now, Aly is embracing the challenges of business ownership and excelling in the competitive beauty world.

Marlene Rojas: Emmy Winner, Youth Advocate, and Proud Celebrity Grad
Celebrity School of Beauty graduate Marlene Rojas is proving that a career in beauty can take you anywhere—even to the Emmys. A talented barber with a passion for youth empowerment, Marlene recently won a New York–area Emmy Award for her role in a children’s educational program produced by Xposure Foundation Inc. The show, Colorful Beginnings – Volume 3: Jumping into Spanish, Dancing to a New Language!, celebrates bilingual learning and creativity, and Marlene was featured on-screen as part of the cast.
Beyond her work behind the barber chair, Marlene brings energy, heart, and purpose to every project she touches. Her Emmy win highlights not only her versatility, but also her deep commitment to community and education.
